It’s that time of year again…warmer weather, flowers budding and of course brackets and a month of glorious madness centered on NCAA basketball. While this is a way of life today---the NCAA tournament itself has seen much change over the course of its 73-year lifespan.
Starting in 1939, with only eight teams competing—the NCAA tournament has grown monumentally to the 68-team spread we see today. The rich history of this sporting event proves that fans are in fact die-hard. They support their teams until the (sometimes bitter) end. They also rally hard against their biggest rivals until the end, too. From Cinderella stories, to #1 seed wins--the NCAA tournament is a time to make your selections and pen them into your bracket.
