Feature Presentation: QR Codes

Quick Response Codes (QR Codes) are two-dimensional barcodes that are readable by barcode readers and mobile devices. Typically, these codes are arranged in a black and white boxed square pattern, but can also be customized with images or logos. These codes may contain information ranging from text to URL's.  QR Codes are quickly gaining ground in our market: from billboard ads to business cards, magazines to brochures---QR Codes are marketing gold. The reason they are so desirable from a marketing standpoint: these codes provide measurable response rates with high accuracy (as you can track each time the URL or link is “hit”, if you create a 'QR Code' specific page to your website), which creates easier calculation on ROI—ending in a better approximation on marketing budgets.  Other points that make QR Codes a great marketing strategy:

*The same code may be printed again and again.

*QR Codes are inexpensive to create, and free to read (the QR Code reader apps are numerous and free to download on most devices)

*They can be used in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors—making them graphically appealing as well as an innovative way to take your customers exactly where you want them to go!

If you are interested in learning more about QR Codes, or would like to get started in using one in your latest marketing or print campaigns, call or email us today! TWG is working harder for your business.

TWG answers to your business questions: Does it really matter if I ever change or update anything on my website?

Do you keep your website up-to-date with current information? Your website needs to be viewed as any other marketing campaign. Every year, there should be some tweaks and adjustments to your site. If nothing else, update an image, refresh biographies, or add new testimonials. Even the smallest update and change lets search engines know that you have an active website.

At least every two years, you should look at improving your website layout and usability. Repeat visitors will enjoy a change of scenery, competitors viewing your website will feel some new heat (because, yes, competitors are looking at your website, too!), and your website will be up-to-date with current web standards.

Finally, a website redesign provides an opportunity to make your website work for you. Look at adding new enhancements such as a blog, a photo gallery or online bill payment. Don’t let your website be a static, never-changing after-thought. Use it to benefit your business as the marketing tool that it is. Put your website address on anything you put your company name to drive people to your website. Use your website to maintain your business and your business relationships.

Contact TWG today for more information on updating your current website.

What Can My Website Do For Me? Sharing photos on your website

Do you take a lot of photos for your business or organization? Would you like to be able to share those with others easily? Then you need a photo gallery on your website. This feature allows you to share your photos in a gallery directly on your website where anyone can view them. You can separate your pictures into categories or events, and you can upload as many as you like!

If you already have a photo gallery on your website, are you using it to its full potential? Upload your photos often. Doing this will draw people back to your website again and again; leading them to explore other areas of your site with each visit.

Your photo gallery can be set up with categories for event pictures, projects, photography, community images, or almost anything else you wish to share. So get out there, take pictures, and share them for all to see!

The Web Guys, Inc. Congratulate Website/Graphic Designer, Rachel McKee.

Elizabethtown, Kentucky - June 16, 2011 - The Web Guys, TWG Design Studio, proudly congratulates our website/graphic designer Rachel McKee on her winning T-shirt design submission for the 2011 Heartland Music Festival. This festival was previously the Heartland Festival and has been a regional tradition for the past 28 years; this, the 29th annual celebration, marks the first year under the newly incorporated title.

Rachel is a key member of the design team at The Web Guys, Inc.  She is responsible primarily for website and logo designs for our client base.  She holds a degree from Western Kentucky University and has been with TWG since 2010.

Her artistic flair and creativity are talents that she lends to the work we complete daily—and were elemental to her success in the T-shirt design contest.  Rachel’s winning design was featured on the official Heartland Music Festival T-shirts for the 2011 festivities.  Of the accomplishment with her design, Rachel says, “I am honored to have been selected the winner of this contest and enjoy that it gets to be shared with our entire community.”

Rachel, and all of her winning website designs, are working harder for your business out of our offices downtown, in Elizabethtown, KY.
